I did not use EZDrummer, but in the past I did use Superior Drummer with a Roland TD12. Triggering worked good but had issues with the volume and it didn’t feel a bit unnatural.

What do you use as a sound card?
I also noticed that in Superior Drummer I needed to select the correct midi-mapping for my module.

If you are triggering through MIDI with your drum module attached to your pc or laptop, the internal soundcard in your laptop can cause a delay. If that is the case, then try to use an external sound card. For example a Steinberg or Focusrite.
Also the midi-mapping needs to be correct in EZDrummer in the MIDI in/E-drum settings, otherwise not all MIDI-signals that are sent out from the module will generate the correct sound. Seems that there are differences between different brands of drum modules.
Not choking on the cymbals might me a midi-mapping issue.

Why is the triggering not good? Do you have a delay or wrong sounds?

Bit of a ghost town but this thread was interesting 🙂.

This discussion for the choke issue in Superior Drummer identifies the likely culprit:

It is too bad that the ATV module doesn't permit you to modify the MIDI mappings.

Kaloo, did you ever resolve this in EZD?

MVDPUT, curious to know why you switched from 2box to a Roland TD12 module!

Hi vnowinski.

I was using the old 2Box module which has some hi hat issues and is not compatible with any other hi hat brands. So I sold it and bought a TD12 so I could use a VH11 hihat.
Currently also sold the TD12 and bought a new 2Box DrumIt3 because the sounds of the TD12 started to irritate me. The new 2Box is compatible with lots of other brands including Roland and ATV.

Didn't know that about the older unit (original MK 5)? Thanks for sharing.

The ATV hi hat sounds great but I've read elsewhere of folks having problems with it when using other modules. I am thinking of an EXS-3 kit but swapping the ATV hit hat for a VH11 if it plays well with the XD3 module, as a way of insuring compatibility with other modules (older Rolands or TD17).

I played on the ATV hihat some time ago to try it out and the feel and playability was amazing! I am not sure if the feel of the VH11 is as good as the ATV.
It was on the aD5 kit though, not the EXS.
